Madison has had the stomach flu since Sunday. I am so grateful that she is no longer vomiting, but I'm changing her diaper every 15-20 minutes. I called and talked to the nurse at the doctor's office and I'm already doing everything. She's on the BRAT diet... (Angie- my friend who is a dietitian taught me in college) Bananas, Rice Cereal, Applesauce and Toast. This is my first experience with her and this. Do you have any other advice for me? I'm counting on all you Super Moms!

Poor thing! Hope it passes soon. As for Bourne...what are you thinking..the movie was great and so were the action scenes! We are fine with not going to movies, we have our own little theater here, remember!?:)
You are so lucky to have Maddison be 10 months and have this be the first time she has gone through this! Kenedy seemed to get it all the time. From about 9 months to 16 months I swear she was sick every other week! It is so sad because you can't do anything except for what you are doing! At least with the runs you can do the BRAT diet. When they vomit over an over you can only give them pedialite. Last time Kenedy was doing that the nurse told me not to feed her anything. I had given her a piece fo toast becuase she was hungry and the nurse told me to take it away from her. Kenedy cried so hard when I took it, I started crying, I felt like I was starving my poor child! It is so sad and their poor bottoms get so red! I hope Maddy gets feeling better soon!
Oh Lacey! I don't have any advice but I know you are such a great mom that I'm sure you are doing all you need to be doing! Hang in there!
My advice...well besides having extra laundry detergent and spare sheets standing by...hmmmm I'd say enjoy the cuddling. As pathetic as I sound I kind of like when my boys are sick for the melow cuddling I can get out of them :) I change my mind. I like it ONLY when they are cuddling, not when they are barfing, crying, going to the doctor and when i am doing laudry 24-7. But I do love that cuddling!
Oh Lacey! I feel for you. That is no fun to go through! When my kids get the stomach flu, I go buy those big blue disposable waterproof padded sheets, like for old people's beds and stuff...do you know what I mean?...and lay them down on their beds and all over the floor around their beds because when they start puking or pooping, just bundle them all up and take them out to the garbage, plus they have a soft cottony finish sp they aren't bad to lay on...but geez, that is about all I can tell you besides what everyone else already says. Enjoy the sick cuddling...I always feel loved when my kids are sick and want me to just hold them. Make sure to keep her well hydrated cause I've heard stories about young kids who even just have minor cases of this stuff and it can send them into cardiac arrest. Scary stuff! My sister's kids have been going through this exact same thing...all 3 of them...and she took them into the doctor and was told it is highly contagious (they all got it from their other cousins) and is a virus that can last up to 5 weeks!! Yuck!!! And since you live in that same general vicinity, I bet that it is the same type of thing going around. Hopefully Maddy will get better soon and I hope you don't lose your mind in the meantime. Sorry I haven't talked to you in a while. We just got back from Vernal and have had SOOO much going on...I can't even think straight. Anyways, I'll tell you all about it on the phone. Hang in there!
Thanks for the credit, but Im not a diatician. You are doing everything... you just have to let it run its course. I use crystal light- Dax can't choke down pedialite- but crystal light and will keep her hydrated, and keep her away from the sugar that will run straight through her. Also, as yucky as it sounds, let her get in the tub a couple times a day, and give her a cup to play with. For some reason, kids love to drink bath water, and liquids help the bug run through the system faster. It also seems to be like the only thing they'll drink when they are way sick, and won't drink a thing. It will also help with the fever. Flu season stinks, and we definately had our share of it last year- not looking forward to it. Hang in there- you are an awesome mom!
