Cheap Entertainment

BOX \ˈbäks\noun A container, case, or receptacle, usually rectangular, of wood, metal, cardboard, etc., and often with a lid or removable cover.

The hit of the day was this empty cardboard box. Like I've said before..."WHY BUY TOYS?"She absolutely entertained herself for hours with this box!

I bought Maddy some toy measuring cups and spoons. She could care less about the cups, but the SPOONS...she carries some type of spoon with her everywhere. I mean it when I say everywhere. She wakes up gripping on to a spoon.

Hours later and she's still inside the box. Even our dog Koda can't
figure out what's so great about this box. She's can't say mom yet, but she can say "oda" for Koda. I guess I'll just live with being called Dada.
She's on to something better...flushing the toilet.
She starts clapping afterward because she's so proud of herself.

I absolutely love it! It's normal for a kid to prefer a box rather than the $20 educational toy you thought they had to have from the store. She looks so cute... absolutely love the hair! Is she playing in the toilet next? A favorite past time of Maliyas... her brother is potty training... hit and miss every other day, and so she like's to play in his potty because it doesn't have a lid. Needless to say... we wash our hands a lot at our house.

She is so cute! I love the pig tales. Bretten has never got over his playing in boxes phase...I have a lot of his toys in box-like containers, laundry basket type things, and he dumps the toys out, doesn't play with them, just dumps them out of the container so he can play in it and carry it around the house with him. Both Jaylee and Bretten had a blast this last month with all the boxes we've had around from our move. One time when we got back from a trip to UT when Jaylee was about Maddy's age, I unpacked the suitcase and she sat in it and played in it for hours and when I tried to put it away she wouldn't have it, so we had a suitcase sitting in the middle of our tiny apartment for a long time because then she decided that she liked to take her naps in it too. haha!

So cute! You ought to check out the book Crispin: The Pig Who Had it All by Ted Dewan. I think you'll find that Crispin and Madison have a lot in common.

I love that first picture of her. That smile is classic. We gotta get her to do that next week for pix. Yeah, I'm so done buying toys...Max loves the remote. Typical guy.

I agree...toys are overrated...just give them a piece of celophane and they will be entertained for hours :)
Thanks again for the visit yesterday. You are so sweet. And where did you get those CUTE balloons? You always know where to get the cute stuff? Thanks again!

I love the picture where Maddie has that huge grin! So cute! You need to blow that one up and hang it on the wall! It is so amazing what entertains kids! We spend all this money on toys we think are cool and all the kids really want are pots, pans and Tuperware lids! So funny! Yes, I am the Enrichment Leader, fun, fun! I think they called me to this so I would actually go to Enrichment! If you ever have cute ideas throw them my way, I need all the help I can get!

What was the name of that slide website I need to go to? I haven't had time to fool around with it yet.
