Here's the reason for my title. Of course I think my husband is thoughtful, but your not going to believe what he did. We have been in Sun Valley, ID the past few days. Did I mention it's one of my favorite places on earth. Nate hasn't had any episodes with his kidney stones for a few days. He wakes me up Friday morning at 3:00am to tell me that he's been having intense pain again. He tells me that he is just going to walk around the lodge..... at 7:00am I wake up and wonder if Nate has already headed to the Derm Conference. I pick up my phone and find this text.
"Baby I had to go to the hospital. The lodge took me. The car is there for you."
Are you kidding me. At that point I felt like the worst wife in the world. I tried calling him, but he didn't pick up at first. Finally on my way to the hospital he answered his phone. In his drugged voice he told me that "He didn't want to wake me up again." When I reach the the hospital I find him in an ER bed with a morphine drip. They had already done CT scans and found a large stone about to reach his bladder and more in his kidneys. I was so upset at him, but how mad can you be at someone who's going through pains similar to labor! After a few hours he was released and we've just been waiting...for the next episode.
A big thanks to Bruce who was the CEO of the hospital for giving Nate a blessing. Also thanks to Auntie M & Lauren for watching Madison while I was at the hospital with Nate. Here's a picture she painted at the Lichtenburgs.
On our way home we went to the Idaho State Fair with Grandma & Grandpa. I forgot my camera in the car, so no pics.

Kidney stones are the worst. Aaron has been having them about every 6 months for the past 2 years. I feel so bad for him. Hopefully Nate gets rid of them quickly.
I can't believe he is having so many episodes. Since working in the ER I have seen people come in with kidney stones, and I have seen what kind of pain they are in. I'm so sorry. Let me know if there is ever anything we can do.
I hope Nate gets over those quickly. No fun. I can't believe he left you sleeping to go to the hospital. What a considerate guy.
I hope he gets feeling better soon. That is so crazy that he had the lodge take him. haha. Poor guy. You guys really do travel a lot but I bet it is a lot of fun.
GET WELL SOON! Nate is such a nice person :)
WOW!!! What an exciting last few weeks you have had. They just don't want to stop, do they. I hope this kidney stone thing goes away quickly.
P.S. I am so jealous! I haven't been to the Idaho State Fair in years. Lucky!

I can't believe he left you sleeping! I would have been ticked (just as soon as he was given an epidural;) I hope he gets feeling better soon. Stay home and relax!
