Bliss & Change

The past four years of marriage have been absolute complete bliss & change. Nate and I celebrated this past weekend in the lovely Midway resort Zermatt. Let me just tell you, we definitely needed this!

Life has been very chaotic lately for us. Palomar (Nate's company) had major reconstruction, which brought major layoffs to eighteen sales representatives. We had two choices: 1. move to St. Louis 2. become jobless. We choose the second and Nate went back into the world of job searching. I decided that since he was home I would be productive, so I began subbing at my old school. It actually worked out great because I received points towards certification that I needed badly to keep my teaching license. I loved being back at school and it felt so natural again. The biggest downfall was that I missed my darling Madison so much. I took for granted being a "Stay at Home Mom." Nate and I truly gained so much appreciation for each other by switching roles. It has now been a month and change has come again. Tomorrow will be my last day working and Nate will return to the work field. We have been so blessed and feel the love of those who rallied around us. There is one thing that we can always expect....change.

This is such a theme lately with so many people I know (us included)! Hope the new job works out! And glad you had the chance to celebrate your anniversary!

Good luck with all the changes. Cody and I have been through that role-swap before too. I think the perspective gained was well worth it. (Even though I died being away from Rylee.) It was good seeing you at Texas Roadhouse. Sorry we didn't get a chance to chat; you look great though and Maddy is a doll.

I didn't even know he had been laid off, I can't imagine having those two choices! I am so glad he found a job. Good luck with everything. I am sure things will work out.

wow, sorry things changed so much for you, but that's good it didn't take Nate long to find a job! And you got a little teaching fix...that is nice! Change is definitely something we have had a lot of in the last year.

I'm so glad to hear that everything has worked out. We were also in that boat about a month ago, and I'm so happy to report that Whit has also found another job. As a matter of fact he found 3 and worked 79 hours last week (go figure!) I don't think I will ever complain about him working to much again, because I would much rather he have a job than be jobless. It was way to stressfull for me :) We still need to get together...maybe now that it is getting warmer??

Loved this post, although our situations and lives are much different the feelings are the same. Change is good and scary but it makes us grow. I appreciated this post...reminds me what is important in life.

Wow I am so glad that he was able to find work somewhwere else and that you were able to work during the transition. These are deffinately hard times for alot of people. But Hopefully things will turn around soon for everyone. I bet going back to work was a real eye opener on how Lucky use stay at home moms really. I know it would be SUPER hard for me to leave my kids too

I'm glad you were able to get your recertification points. I always worry about how that works when I quit teaching someday.
