A Sweeter Life

Almost two weeks later and I finally have a moment to blog about our Miss Delaney Jane. It's truly is a sweeter life with her in it. She made her grand entrance on 9/15/10 at 6:08 PM. I was the first scheduled for a possible C-Section at the hospital that morning if the doctor couldn't get the baby turned. We had to be at the hospital at 5:15 am. They gave me an epidural (well actually two...the first didn't work) and then my doctor turned her after three tries. It was crazy to watch and feel him turn her externally. It was painful...I'm not going to lie! What followed...

• 11 hours of labor
• An exhausted uterus that stopped contracting for a 1/2 hour.
• An epidural that stopped working for the remaining hour until she was born. They tried giving me a boost which didn't really help.
• 1 Hour of Pushing
• A Transverse (Sideways) Baby
• The wonderful support of my husband, mom, doctor and nurses.

Our first moments together...

The night before she was born I told Nate that I thought she would weigh 6 lbs and 11 oz. I was right on the money! She was 17 1/2 inches long.
