I know I've been a complete SLACKER with blogging, but it seems like I have been sick forever. I'm finally seeing a light at the end of the tunnel with this sinus infection. Even though I've been sick we have still been busy.
Engaged~Aaron (Nate's Brother) and Lauren got engaged last Friday. They will be married August 15th in the Houston Texas Temple. We are so excited to have Lauren in our family!
Eighteen Months~
Madison went in for her well baby check-up on Wednesday. Here's the stats once again....tall, skinny, and a nice large noggin!
Height: 33.5 inches 90%
Weight: 23lbs 9 oz. 36%
Head: 48cm 84%
New Tricks: shutting doors, blowing her nose, drinking out of a cup, puzzles, actually using utensils(no longer a toy), walking downstairs, drawing, singing her abc's(still pretty gibberish), crawling in & out of the doggy door (we had no part of this), and some new dance moves. Her new favorite word is "Bussy". We have no idea what this means, but maybe it means nothing at all. Who knows!

Potty Trained~ NOT! Maddy isn't quite ready to be potty trained even though she keeps showing signs. We decided to get the potty and panties, but she has no control. Just one night and one morning and we came to the conclusion that she's not quite there yet. She pees every 10 minutes and completely soaked Nate the other night. Even though she's has no control I think she somewhat understands....here's why. #1 She went into the bathroom and peed all over the floor. #2 The other morning she took off her messed diaper and brought it to me. Then she ran into her bedroom and grabbed her panties out of the drawer. She came back giggling wanting me to put them on. She's so stinkin' smart.
My 1st Best Friend~Lindsey is the first friend I ever had. We seriously have a picture of Lindsey and her mom holding me as a newborn. We spent our childhood together in Montana. We've stayed in touch all these years and she now has 5 children!! I don't know how she does it, but she's Wonder Woman. She came into this weekend and we just had to get together. We took the kids swimming while the men were at the Jazz playoff game. We were seriously counting heads to make sure that we had everyone. I couldn't believe the stares we were getting walking around with 6 kids.
Sewing~I took a couple sewing classes in college 6 years ago. That is the last time I have even touched a sewing machine. I spent Friday at my sister's house bringing back the long lost ability. My mom and sister are amazing quilters who both thought it was pretty funny when I had a hard time with just a straight stitch. It was way better by the end of the day, but my sister should get a Gold Medal for patience. The girls played so well together and Maddy actually paid attention to Sophie instead of just ignoring her. Goldfish?
Games~I love playing games and I have the best brother in-law Ryan who has all the great games to play. Not only does he know all the rules, but he's fair when explaining and playing. Friday night we played so late that we just spent the night at their house instead of making the 45 minute drive home. I can't wait for the next new game and game night. Thanks Ryan for teaching us Pirate's Cove.

He He, tall and skinny. I have a sneaking suspicion that will be ALL of my kids!!! Love your pictures and your entries. They are all so fun! We need to get together sometime soon!!!!
Thanks for filling us in! I've been wondering what has been happening with the Lairds! Sounds like you have been busy. busy, busy! I hope your sinus infection is gone...those are the worst!!
Wow, a lot has been going on! I am glad to hear that you are feeling better! I hate being sick!
Hey there stinker...if you don't recall you never told me about your blog either...I found it off of Mikkel's. So there...btw, if you didn't notice almost every one that commented on there didn't know I had a blog. The only ones that knew were family...Madison is a doll. Super cute! Are you inviting me to the Lake? Cuz that would sure be fun! :) Love ya girl!
yeah, for sewing...do you want to have craft days and we can make things together!! I have SOO many ideas! thanks for the update...been wondering where you were!
dinner...when?
My my... you have been busy. Here I thought you were at home with a box of kleenex attached to you. Glad you are feeling better. Seriously... our babies grew up overnight... and I can't do a third yet... I want a baby, but I know I don't have the patience to deal with my other two crazy kids on sleep deprivation. If I had a third hand to hold another child with... I'd give the a-ok... but since Im not a mutant... the rest of my little angels will have to wait in heaven. I also spent the weekend cursing my sewing skills (and machine) as I finished a quilt I made for my sis in law that is getting married. I miss ya, and look forward to seeing you soon!
What a fun post. You have been busy. I hope that you get feeling better. Maddy is so cute. Good luck with potty training. I get stressed thinking about it. That's a cute pic of Maddy sitting on the toilet. Rylee won't have anything to do with it! Sounds like you take as many pictures as I do. I'll keep an eye for when you set up an account at smilingmoments.com and we'll upgrade your account- unlimited storage. Thanks!
Thanks for the updates. I don't know how you do it. I'll cross my fingers on the potty training. That would be a dream if my boys would potty train at 18 months! Actually I settle for 2 years old;) Good luck!
potty training already?!?! I am still waging the bottle battle...haven't even tho't about potty training. it's a little embarrassing that Jack is older than your daughter. share you secret.
Hi to you too Lacey! Your blog is so cute, I really like it. I don't mind at all if you add my link. Have a great day!
No wonder why you are so tired...you guys have been busy, busy!
I just got done watching "27 Dresses" I LOVED IT. Thanks for letting me borrow it.
Hey Lacey, It was fun catching up on what you've been up to. How fun that Aaron and Lauren are engaged. She will be a great addition to the Laird family. That's so funny about Nate being baby hungry. We should get Jimmy and Nate together and have them watch some babies together for a few nights and see if they are still so ready for more. I get tired thinking about it- and the thought of putting on 30 pounds doesn't help. I want to borrow your "27 Dresses" when you get it back. It looks so cute. The Cafe Rio shower sounds like fun. I am going to do a bridal shower for my sister, Steph. Maybe I'll do that too. Can you believe there is snow on the ground?
Your little girl is so cute, and has the sweetest smile. I'm glad your feeling better.
