We just spent a week celebrating Nate's successful year with his company. He was part of the President's Club this year and a trip to St. John was included in that achievement. We were completely spoiled rotten and I feel that any vacation after this just won't be the same. Our bodies are somewhere between Mountain and Atlantic Standard Time. Let's just pray they adjust soon! Below we are waiting out the rain...
Trunk Bay was my favorite beach on St. John. The sand was an unreal and I was completely entertained watching this pelican for the afternoon. Nate spent time snorkeling and I enjoyed every ray of sunshine. Nate loves to talk to every single local he can find to get the inside scoop. Here he is getting the low down from the beach life guard.
Later in the day we took a taxi to Cinnamon Bay...another beach just down the road from Trunk.
Our favorite excursion of the trip was a day trip on the Kekoa to Jost Van Dyke in the British Virgin Islands. The Kekoa was a beautiful catamaran with a amazing story of survival. This vessel was amazing! The day was filled with snorkling at Honeymoon Bay, ate at the famous Foxy's, and we swam into the Soggy Dollar.
Cruz Bay
We really wanted to go to the Bathes, but two all day excursions seemed pushing it for my prego body. So we decided that I would get a massage that morning and Nate would go kayaking. Then the afternoon was spent exploring the island on mopeds with the Pierotti's.
The last night was spent with a beautiful reception celebrating the week.
The Westin was a beautiful resort. We didn't spend too much time at the resort, but we were very impressed every moment while we were there. We said our goodbyes to some wonderful people. While we were waiting for for our ferry there were a couple of sharks swimming under the dock. We started our journey back home which included a 45 minute ferry to St. Thomas, 4 1/2 hour flight to Atlanta, 3 hour layover, and at last another 4 1/2 hour flight home to SLC. We were seriously exhausted by the time we got home.
Finally, none of this would have been possible without the love of my parents who took our children for the week. Words cannot express the gratitude we feel for them.
