"White Out"

We've had quite the winter and yesterday just topped it off! It started snowing at about 2:00, just as I was getting ready to run a few errands. I waited a half hour and we were in a "white out". I heard that the winds were 70 MPH. The power flickered on and off for the next hour and then it was out around 4:00. It wasn't that bad a first, but by 9:00 our house was about 59 degrees. I realized that we are in no way "EMERGENCY PREPARED." We had one flash light and one candle. Nate was still trying to make it home from downtown SLC. He left around 6:30 and eventually made it home at midnight. He hung out at a gas station and kept checking the news and road reports on the internet. My brother was also on the same roads and it took him 7 hours to make it home. I live about 5 miles away from him and that drive took him 3 hours. Madison and I just hung out in my bedroom and watch movies, until the all the batteries died. Then we made a tent with the comforter to keep warm. Madison thought it was fun and I couldn't wait for Nate to be home and the power back on! The power came on around 2:00 this morning. It was quite the adventure! I'm glad that I wasn't hanging out in my car, stranded at work, or had children sleeping at school. Oh What a Night!

I know what you mean... Jared was on his way home from St. George... going 20 miles an hour most of the way, and than the last 10 miles they were barely crawling along because they couldn't see a thing. It was definately a mess yesterday!

I watched the news last night and today and it was showing the roads between Eagle Mountain and Saratoga Springs and I just kept thinking about you and my sister Cari. That was some crazy weather to watch! We luckily didn't get too much of it. It was actually really windy...enough that I had to drive Jaylee a block to her bus stop and wait for the bus...but we didn't get much snow YET! It is supposedly suppose to hit us the next few days. Guess we'll see. I need to be emergency prepared too! I'm glad you're all okay and that Nate didn't go off the road or something crazy!
